A 33-year-old man found shot to death on an East Vancouver doorstep Saturday evening was possibly the victim of a targeted hit, say authorities, and may be linked to a marijuana grow-op.

The fatal shooting took place on Gladstone Street near East 29th, in an area described by residents as family-oriented quiet neighbourhood free of gun violence, reports The Province.

Authorities have not released the identity of the victim. The death marks Vancouver’s seventh murder of 2014.

Police indicated Sunday their initial investigation indicated the attack was not random. Information regarding victim’s purported connection to drug growing or sales has not been made public.
