Get in touch with your tequila side and attend the third annual Vancouver International Tequila Expo on May 31, 2014. The expo is Western Canada’s largest festival dedicated to Mexico’s number one exported spirit, tequila.

According to the Vancouver International Tequila Expo’s website, the aim of the festival is to “increase the presence of tequila in Western Canada”. British Columbia tequila sales have increased more than 9 percent since the 2012 inaugural expo.

Proceeds from the expo will benefit the British Columbia Hospitality Foundation so there is no reason to feel guilty about having two drinks or 20. With every ticket purchased event goers will receive 20 tasting tickets, but additional tickets are available to purchase on-site.

Short on cash, but still want to attend the expo? Trade tasting will be available Saturday May 31, from 5:45 p.m. to 7 p.m.

A discounted price of $10 is available for those in the liquor retail or hospitality industry. In order to attend this portion of the expo you will need to bring a business card or cheque stub from your work that indicates the name and/or logo of your business that serves alcohol (e.g. restaurant, bar, hotel).
