Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a male suspect who allegedly stole a charity donation box at a restaurant on Westview Drive in North Vancouver.

At approximately 3:00 a.m., on Sunday, April 20, 2014, a lone male approached the front counter at the 24 hour McDonald’s restaurant and stole the Ronald McDonald House charity donation box by placing it in his backpack.

Also, prior to stealing the donation box, the culprit purchased food with a stolen credit card that is associated to a recent theft of a wallet. The alleged theft of wallet occurred from a nearby vehicle in a residential area in the preceding hours.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, 30 to 35 years old, approximately 6 feet tall with a medium build, brown beard, short hair and wearing glasses and a black baseball cap.

Police are asking anyone who can identify the culprit on store surveillance to call the North Vancouver RCMP at 604-985-1311; quoting file number 2014-9427.

You can also remain anonymous with your information by contacting Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).

Ronald McDonald House Charities Canada, funded by McDonald’s Canada, provides homes to families with seriously ill children who are treated at hospital facilities that are located far away from their own home.
