Lululemon to support expansion of Sole Food Street Farms

A beautiful relationship is blooming on Cambie St. While the yoga and organic food pairing is a no-brainer, this isn’t your average Corporate Social Responsibility handout, but a community collaboration.

Lululemon Lab throws their brand power behind urban farming social enterprise Sole Food Street Farms to crowdsource fervent local food supporters to participate in a fundraising challenge. On Sunday, May 25, ‘The Lab’, as they are known, will host yoga class taught by Karl (Karlito) Notargiovanni, with brunch and drinks in their iconic Broadway and Cambie headquarters for the benefit of Sole Food. A place in the class doesn’t come cheap – with a minimum donation of $250, this event asks participants to align their purse strings with their bodies and values.

Crowdsourcing for public engagement in fundraising is a time-tested model used by charity events ranging from the ubiquitous ‘Movember’ campaign, to local initiatives like the Vancouver Eastside 10K. However, this innovative campaign invites participants to set their own fundraising goals, leveraging crowdfunding platforms into a personal fundraising challenge.

Participants will also receive two tickets to a harvest dinner at Sole Food’s urban orchard and farm at Main and Terminal streets, prepared by some of Vancouver’s best chefs inspired by simple, elegant, farm-grown ingredients.
