Vancouver Cheap Eats: Banh Mi

Comments
Tonkin

At first glance, a banh mi looks like a typical sandwich. However, anyone who has experienced the combination of fresh vegetables, spicy cilantro, and savory pork nestled in between a soft yet crispy French baguette knows that Vietnamese subs are in a league of their own. What makes them even better is that they can usually be found for $5 or less, so check out some of the places where Vancity Buzz and Chowmenow like to get their banh mi on.

Viet Sub

Viet Sub

This small sandwich shop is easy to miss, but we urge you to walk in for the friendly service and awesome subs. Choose from 10 different types that range between $3.25 and $4.25.

Au Petit Café

Au Petit

For any banh mi connoisseur, Au Petit Café is usually on their go-to list. Ranging from $3.75 to $4.75, they’re a great deal if you manage to snag a seat. Just make sure not to go on a Wednesday (it’s the one day they close).
