Odd Society Spirits has been granted a lounge license and will officially open for cocktail service on Saturday, April 5, 2014.
Guests can now sip on Odd Society Spirits signature cocktails made with alcohol created onsite while enjoying the view of the distillery’s glistening copper stills, only separated from the tasting lounge by a dramatic floor-to-ceiling glass wall. The lounge uses moody lighting, mirrors and custom artwork to create an atmosphere that represents the soul of Odd Society— warm and welcoming, but charmingly unusual.
Distillers/Co-Owners Gordon Glanz and Joshua Beach will be on hand to explain the finer points of the spirit-making process, with professional bartenders at the ready to pour samples of Odd Society’s house-made 100% B.C. craft-certified spirits and mix cocktails showcasing Odd Society East Van Vodka, Crème de Cassis, and the soon to released Wall Flower Gin.
Housed in a converted motorcycle garage on Powell Street in East Vancouver, Odd Society Spirits is well situated in a happening craft liquor community; their neighbours include Powell Street Brewery, Parallel 49 Brewing Company, Storm Brewing, Coal Harbour Brewing and Bomber Brewing. The area is also quickly becoming a hot dining destination with popular restaurants Bistro Wagon Rouge and Kessel + March popping up just steps away from the distillery.
The tasting lounge is open: Thursday, 1PM through 7PM; Friday and Saturday, 1PM through 9PM; and Sunday, 1PM through 6PM. Tours of the distillery are offered every Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 4PM.
