DAN MANGAN TO JOIN THE CBCMUSIC.CA FESTIVAL IN VANCOUVER

Dan Mangan will join Tegan and Sara, Spoon, Arkells, Hannah Georgas and others at the second annual CBCMusic.ca Festival produced by Live Nation Canada. This year’s festival will take place at Deer Lake Park in Burnaby, B.C.(6450 Deer Lake Ave) on Saturday, June 14, 2014.

The CBCMusic.ca Festival will be hosted by Jian Ghomeshi from CBC Radio One’s daily arts, culture and entertainment magazine Q, and will feature a number of CBC’s talent. CBC Radio 3’s Grant Lawrence is the newest addition confirmed to be at the festival. Lawrence has long been a leading voice for Canadian arts and culture. For years, Lawrence has hosted the CBC Radio 3 Podcast, a weekly showcase of Canadian independent music. Grant also hosts a live and interactive daily program for CBC Radio 3’s popular web radio station on CBCMusic.ca.

Other CBC stars set to take the stage:

Stephen Quinn, host of CBC Radio One’s On The Coast delivers a daily dose of must-listen to radio through news, reviews and interviews that keeps Vancouverites informed. Stephen is a big fan of independent Canadian music and has a special weakness for singer-songwriters who can tell a story.

Tom Power, host of CBC Radio 2 Morning and Deep Roots, is an award winning musician, broadcaster and writer from St. John’s, Newfoundland. Tom began hosting Deep Roots while still a folklore student at Memorial University and recently became full-time host of CBC Radio 2 Morning. He believes that the world just needs more Bluegrass.

Gloria Macarenko hosts the award-winning newscast CBC News Vancouver at 5 and 6pm and is also the host of the weekly lifestyle program Our Vancouver.   Gloria’s relationship with the community goes far beyond the newsroom as she volunteers her time supporting charitable causes.

Renee Filippone, host of CBC News Vancouver Weekend is a familiar face to Vancouverites. A born and raised west-coaster, Renee has worked in both radio and television, on air and behind the scenes.

Rich Terfry will DJ a special set on stage. Terfry is host of Radio 2 Drive, the destination for songs you haven’t heard in eons, the bands you wish got more radio play, the music you feel passionate about. Roots, rock, acoustic, Brit-pop, modern favourites and, most importantly, Canadian music. The show is a love letter to Canadian towns and cities across the country.

Also, CBC Radio One’s hit comedy program The Irrelevant Show will take the stage for their first-ever Vancouver performance. Neil GrahnDonovan WorkunRyan Parker and music director Jan Randall will perform a half-hour of the show’s most popular songs and music-related sketches.

Tickets for the CBCMusic.ca Festival are now on sale through Ticketmaster.
