Going against the standard practices and expectations, this newly opened tea bar’s fresh approach on tea enjoyment focuses on tastes and a more relaxed attitude towards a beverage too often considered as plain and bitter. Through crafted iced teas, tea lattes and smoothies, there’s nothing simple about Artisan’s menu. Their recipes and cold brew method will amaze the casual tea drinkers and enlighten connoisseurs alike.
Phong Vo, a former Executive Chef at Heirloom Restaurant and Creative Food Director to The Urban Tea Merchant, is the driving force behind this venture. “It’s all about taste. Everyone knows tea is good for you, but the current choices are very plain and flat in taste. I want to show that tea can be ridiculously great tasting when done right.” Phong enthusiastically explains. “Our crafted iced teas, for example, are more invovled than just adding ice cubes.”
As the original operator of Pearl Drops Teahouse, Phong’s knowledge and passion for teas are evident. He describes the Cold Brew process. “This method will allow a different flavour profile to emerge, pulling out fruity, earthy and bright flavours that may not surface steeping the traditional hot way. When you focus on fresh teas, fruits, spices and ingredients, you not only get the health benefits, but a huge taste explosion that will sure to change the way you look at tea!”
To encourage tea consumption, Artisan Tea bar will be offering personalized tea blending options where you get to customize your own tea.
