Man behind West End stabbing spree found not criminally responsible

The man who went on a stabbing spree last year in his own West End apartment building has been found not criminally responsible for his actions.

The Jan. 31, 2013 attacks sent seven people to hospital with various injuries. According CTV, the attacker Jerome Bonneric plead not guilty blaming the incident on a sudden psychotic break.

The 33-year old was charged with four counts of aggravated assault, four counts of assault with a weapon, three counts of common assault and one count of assaulting a police officer. Seven people, from people in their 20s to 60s, were wounded in the attack.

Prior to the attack, he had no criminal record. He was admitted into St. Paul’s Hospital several days prior to the floor to floor rampage in the Barclay apartment building.
