TED Scultpure Vancouver

You might have already seen Spider-man’s web criss-crossing the harbour, which will soon become “Skies Painted with Unnumbered Sparks” – the massive aerial sculpture that’s been buzzed about for the past few weeks.

Artist Janet Echelman teamed up with Aaron Koblin, creative director at Google Creative Lab – both former TED speakers – to plan and assemble the artwork, which is truly TED-esque in its technological innovation: the public will be able to control its lighting using their mobile devices.

When the TED Conference is over, the piece will begin a global journey – and it all started in Vancouver.

On Saturday, March 15 at 7 p.m., the artist will officially unveil the completed sculpture at a ceremony held at Canada Place Plaza. The public is invited to attend the official unveiling.
