Stumptown Coffee Vancouver

Lukes General Store is bringing the Stumptown coffee experience into Chinatown with a pop-up location at Space Lab (126 E Pender St).

Calgary based retailer Lukes is launching their first Vancouver venture with a pop-up project in Chinatown focussed on serving Stumptown, the Pacific Northwest roast whose unique quality and practices has earned it a cult-like status amongst coffee lovers. Lukes was the first company to launch Stumptown in Alberta and continues to successfully sell the product in massive numbers, making it their largest retailer in Canada.

“It is a great honour to bring our coffees to Chinatown through our partnership with Lukes General Store.” says Greg Hjort of Stumptown Coffee.” What has set them apart in Calgary is their uncompromising focus on quality, consistency, and presentation. Their attention to detail is the ideal for what we look for with our wholesale relationships as it gives us the ability to showcase the exceptional work of our producer partners while also creating the premium coffee bar experience we are known for in the States. We could not be more delighted to have such a great representative brewing our coffees in Vancouver!”

Lukes in Chinatown will feature a custom made barista cart inset with Marzocco espresso machine and a tap for serving Stumptown’s famous cold brew. In addition, all baristas working at Lukes have had extensive training at the Stumptown’s Seattle roasting house. Lukes will also carry a wide selection of Stumptown wholesale beans (roasted and delivered weekly from Seattle). As well as additional product lines from Lukes General Store such as: Mast Brothers Chocolate, Malin + Goetz, Baxter of California, Meow Meow Tweet, Juniper Ridge, and Portland General Store. All of which will be a great fit for the set-up, which is inside the Space Lab, a proprietor of some of the most interesting furnishings.

“We really couldn’t have asked for a more interesting or exciting space to move into. We’re thrilled to be bringing the best quality coffee in the world into the burgeoning Vancouver neighbourhood of Chinatown” says Lukes owner Gareth Lukes. “We know Stumptown and we’ve gone to great lengths to develop a great coffee experience that will excite and satisfy.”
