Where to Propose in Vancouver

English Bay Engagement Rings

Alright gents, Valentine’s Day is here. Are you planning on popping the question on this special day? While where you decide to propose is a very personal decision, if you need some inspiration, here are some romantic places you can check out.

Grouse Mountain

Grouse Mountain

We all remember this proposal from last year. While not everyone has easy access to a helicopter, and a remote mountaintop, most of us can reach Grouse Mountain. You can easily plan a day of activities on the mountain, and end the day with a nice romantic dinner and a skate on the outdoor rink.

Capilano Suspension Bridge

You might remember the study from Psych 100 that found a person under stress might be more attracted to the person she is with. If you want to increase your chances of your girlfriend saying yes, this is the place!

All kidding aside, if you haven’t been to Capilano Suspension Bridge recently, you really should check it out. They’ve undergone some major expansion in the past few years, adding new activities such as Cliffwalk and Treetops Adventures.

Take a romantic walk before dinner along English Bay, and make a pit stop at these engagement rings. As the sun sets, you get down on one knee and pop the question. It might feel cheesy proposing at the rings, but it’s also oh so romantic!

Sea to Sky Gondola (Opening May 2014)

Sea to Sky Gondola

If you’re still in the planning stages of your proposal, definitely check out the new Sea to Sky Gondola. It is scheduled to open in May 2014. Located in Squamish, the gondola is situated between Stawamus Chief Provincial Park and Shannon Falls. It ascends 2900 feet in a mere 10 minutes! At the top, you can relax, and take in the beautiful views, or hang out

If none of these seem right, you could always ask your partner to plan a nice “typical” Valentine’s date, and hijack it at the end of the night by proposing to her.

Or you can try to recreate your first date like this proposal.
