Interview: A brief chat with Brent Butt

Brent Butt promotes "No Clue" and goes on a standup comedy tour, "Almost a Movie Star."

You may recognize him from such hilarious hits as Corner Gas and Hiccups; two of the highest rated Canadian shows in the history of the Comedy Network. But comedian Brent Butt is about to begin a new adventure he hopes you’ll like too – his first feature film. In his first month long standup comedy tour in years, “Almost a Movie Star” promotes his comedy and movie, much like a band touring for an album, however with a lot less hair and bra throwing.

Written by and starring Brent Butt, “No Clue” is a comedy and dark thriller in one, that follows an unsuspecting hero who is way over his head. Nicolle Hodges meets with Brent in Vancouver to discuss the funny, his feelings towards his new venture and how many digits of pi he knows.

Tickets for the Vancouver show are available online at, by phone at 604.569.1144 or 1.855.551.9747, or in person at the Northern Tickets Office (918 Granville Street).
