With so many different products out there, it can be hard to choose one that is the right fit for a specific skin type. It would be nice if there was one product that would suit everyone, but alas, it is not so. There are literally hundreds of foundations to choose from, some for sensitive skin, some for dry skin, some for oily skin, it can get pretty stressful finding the right one. So, instead of having to go through the trouble of having to try out tons of different products and doing endless amounts of research, here is a list of some of the best, for the three major skin types.

DRY SKIN

When it comes to dry skin, you want a foundation that is going to be moisturizing and keeps your skin hydrated all day. Dry skin can also tend to be slightly more sensitive in some circumstances, if this is the case, go for a foundation that will be good for sensitive skin. Mineral foundations are usually great for that. These products listed are some of the best for anyone with dry skin.

OILY SKIN

When choosing a foundation that is meant for oily skin, make sure it is oil-free. If it is not, most likely the product will emphasize the oiliness in the skin and instead of looking matte or natural, there will be a lot of shine. Anything that is a matte finish or long-wearing is great for oily skin because it will give oil control so that there will be less need for touch-ups throughout the day. These products are great for anyone that needs oil control.

SENSITIVE SKIN

The hardest skin type to find foundation for is sensitive skin. Mineral makeup is usually the best for this skin type because it tends to be gentle and does not usually contain ingredients such as silica, which can cause breakouts. However, just because one has sensitive skin, does not mean they are limited to mineral makeup only. There are products that are not strictly mineral based that are good for sensitive skin as well that may give a little more coverage than mineral makeup, which can not always give the most coverage. Here are some of the best products for anyone with sensitive skin.

Some of these products are at a higher price range, so if the commitment to spend that much is not a top priority, most places can give a sample of the product. That way the product is testable, just in case there is a reaction to the product. Try out some testers at home to see which one is the perfect fit!
