In collaboration with Movember Canada, the women of Vancouver’s Motown Bandits are seeking team members to join the fight against prostate cancer.

With the goal of reaching $10,000 for men’s health initiatives by November 31, women are encouraged to raise funds by impersonating the role of the kidnapper. By holding hostage the men most important to them, such as fathers, brothers, boyfriends, husbands and friends, women can demand their “ransom” of $50 to get them back safely. Individuals can join the team at www.moteam.co/motown-bandits, submit their picture and get their campaign stamped moustache. Using the hashtags, #Movember and #MotownBandits, participants can share the message on all social media outlets and start raising money to change the face of men’s health.

“All year round men help in the fight against Breast Cancer,” said Amie Nguyen and Justine Zeisman, founders of Motown Bandits. “Being a part of Motown Bandits provides a chance for women to show their support for the men that are most important in their lives by spreading awareness about Prostate Cancer and men’s health.”

To coincide with the campaign, Motown Bandits will host several events around the city. The Stachemob Tour will take place on November 15 and 16 to promote the Motown Bandits team and their fundraising campaign. On November 24, the women of the team will host their final event, Staches & Stilettos at Fan Club from 6 to 10 p.m. featuring performances and a live band. Tickets will be available for $15 with all proceeds going towards Movember Canada
