Change your tires and get those mittens out! Snowfall is forecasted for Metro Vancouver this weekend and early next week.

According to Environment Canada, a cold front is moving into the region and will create conditions for snow flurries this Saturday. The snow is not expected to stick at lower elevations, but it could be a boon to Vancouver’s North Shore mountains in their preparations for the ski season, which normally begins in the first week of December.

However, colder temperatures on Monday night and throughout Tuesday could create different conditions for accumulation. The temperature is expected to drop two degrees below zero.

For those seeking fun in the snow this weekend, Whistler’s ski hills will be opening 13 days early on Saturday, November 16. Blackcomb will open as scheduled on November 28.
