The bold lip

A bold lip does not just mean red lipstick, it can be any colour. There are so many amazing shades out there that will make your lips stand out in any crowd. Stay classic with red or even take a walk on the wild side with a deep purple. Mix and match lipsticks with different liners to create the ombre effect or to just tweak the shade of the lipstick colour. To make the lip stand out even more, stay neutral with the eyes.

The cat eye

Meow. Simple, yet elegantly sexy, is what the cat eye is all about. This look is appropriate for any occasion and can be worn a couple of different ways. Keep it classic with the liner only on the top, or go for a more bold effect and wear liner on the top and bottom. Use neutral shades of eye shadow with the liner and create more depth to the eye so that it appears bigger by putting a slightly darker shadow in the crease. One of the best parts of a cat eye? Any lip colour can be worn with it.

The smokey eye

Channel your inner vixen with this bold and daring look. The smokey eye is daring and will create an air of mystery and intrigue. It also does not always mean to have black shadow around the eyes. Play with different colours and neutrals to create the perfect look and don’t forget to blend so that there is no harsh line. Choose a soft neutral lip to bring the attention to the eyes, or go big and wear a bold lip for extra intensity.

The smokey “v”

This is a less bold version of the smoky eye and can be paired with any kind of lip colour. This smoky look will open up the eyes so that they appear to be bigger. Choose a few different colours to work with to create the look of a smoky “v” so that the lighter colours are closer to the middle of the face and the darker colours are on the outer corners of the eye. This can be a bold look or a soft look depending on how dark the outer corner shadows are.

Contouring

Contouring will make a huge difference in any look. Whether it is a more natural look or a dramatic one that you are going for, contouring can make all the difference. Contouring will enhance the cheek bones and highlight around the eye area to open up the eyes. Kim Kardashian’s makeup artist is amazing at contouring her face so that her facial features are perfectly enhanced. Cream, liquid and powder products can all be used to contour, just make sure you blend them well so that there are no lines showing!

Try out all of these amazing looks for all the parties that are sure to come up in the next month, and be sure to pick your favourite for New Years Eve!
