Vancouver Police are reporting that two pedestrians were seriously injured from two separate collisions this morning.
The first collision occurred around 9:30 this morning. A car travelling westbound on East Hastings Street at Salsbury Drive swerved to avoid an eastbound SUV that was turning left on Salsbury. The driver of the car remained at the scene and is cooperating with police.
Anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or has information about the white sport utility vehicle that turned left, is asked to call the Vancouver Police Collision Investigation Unit at 604-717-3012.
The second collision happened around 10:00 this morning, when an 86 year-old woman was walking south across Kingsway Avenue at Dumfries Street. The woman was struck by a van travelling west on Kingsway. As a result of the collision, the woman suffered a head injury and was taken to hospital for treatment, where she remains in serious condition.
