When summer turns to fall, my favourite thing to do is get cozy on my couch with a glass of red wine and a soup on the stove. A great transition wine is Pinot Nero, because it’s light enough to be enjoyed on those days that remind you of summer, but also hearty enough to pair with some of your favourite fall foods.
As I said above, this wine is very versatile. For lighter dishes, think of pairing this with a roast chicken or grilled salmon. Darker meats would also be complementary as this Pinot Nero is more complex than your average.
Immediate upon taking your first sip of this wine, your taste buds are flooded with juicy flavours of raspberry, blackberry and cherries. It is slightly tannic, meaning that it will be able to hold its own when paired with heavier foods.
I highly recommend this wine for transitioning into fall!
