Going down under to the land of Oz just got a whole lot easier for Canadians. Air New Zealand and Tourism Australia has launched a new partnership offering flights for $1598 to one of six Australian destinations, including Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Cairns, Adelaide and Coolangatta (the Gold Coast).

Air New Zealand and Tourism Australia are also partnering with, GoMighty, to showcase the “must-do” experiences Australia offers – from diving the Great Barrier Reef, one of the world’s top natural wonders, to floating in a hot air balloon over cosmopolitan Melbourne.

To encourage would-be travellers to add a trip to Australia to their own ‘to-do’ list for 2014, Tourism Australia and Air New Zealand are offering visitors who go to GoMighty’s #GoAustralia website opportunity to have their own Australian adventure with Air New Zealand.

Readers who express their intention to embark on an Australian journey on the site can register for a “seat” on an Air New Zealand plane. Once 332 people register, the number it takes to fill a Boeing 777-300 aircraft, a special discount will be triggered and each will receive a unique coupon code for travel in 2014*. They will then have to book by New Year’s Day – setting their intentions for 2014.
