Just 6 days after the start of fall, Metro Vancouver was pummelled by a storm that brought heavy rains and winds.
As much as 60 mm of rain fell across the region, in addition to high winds causing power outages with BC Hydro reporting more than 6,000 customers were without power earlier this afternoon in Delta, Coquitlam, the Fraser Valley, Port Moody and especially in West Vancouver.
300 people atop Grouse Mountain were also stranded for hours when high winds forced operators to shut down the resort’s skyride aerial tram.
Environment Canada has issued another warning for tomorrow. A major storm is forecasted for Sunday and will bring powerful winds in addition to heavy rain at times.
