Kiip’s Brian Wong is opening up a new office right here in his hometown of Vancouver. Naturally, Kiip’s local presence will focus on Vancouver’s strong technical talent. Four job postings are already posted for the new Water Street office:
For those that don’t know, Brian Wong is Vancouver’s prodigal son of the tech community. Wong graduated from UBC at the age of 18, before heading down to Silicon Valley (Van Wilder much?). After working with Digg, an information curation site, Wong founded Kiip, a mobile rewards program which partners with some of the biggest brands in the world.
The trend of major tech firms recognizing the technical capacity of Vancouver is really promising. As Vancouver’s entrepreneurial community continues to develop, companies like Kiip will bring much needed C-level talent to Vancouver’s start ups.
