BC Business released their annual ranking of the Top 100 B.C.’s biggest companies with Telus Corp. snatching top spot from Teck Resources Ltd. The ranking was quite stable year-over-year.
The biggest gainers were Catalyst Paper Corp. (up 22 to #35) and OpenRoad Auto Group (up 18 to #70). Daishowa Marubeni International Ltd. (down 43 to #75) and Sierra Wireless Inc. (down 12 to #55) were the biggest losers.
B.C.’s biggest companies are treading carefully in the global economy, being so resource-driven. Overall revenues of the Top 100 were up 1.9 per cent but below nominal GDP growth of 4 per cent.
