The Grouse Grind is the ultimate endurance and physical exercise obstacle for many Vancouverites. A few hundred metres after starting your trek, you question why you decided to take on this challenge in the first place. However, once you reach the top, it’s a magnificent and sometimes addictive feeling – in fact, it’s rewarding.

Now imagine achieving that same feeling 900 times over the last five years. That’s what Amy Tso has done and she was dubbed the “Queen of the Grouse Grind” by The Province, who did a special report on Amy’s magnificent story.

Five years ago she began this journey, and now the 31-year-old has recorded more than 900 climbs.

Amy climbs the mountain several times a day, a few times each week. Her ultimate goal is to reach 1000 climbs, which she hopes to reach by October 2013. After that she plans to hang up the hiking boots. She will be the first woman ever to officially record 1000 visits. The men’s record sits at 2,000.

This is an impressive achievement of health and both mental and physical endurance. Congratulations Amy!
