Every summer, Edible Canada comes up with a new takeout window concept that is popular amongst visitors to Granville Island. Last year’s concept was bacon, and this year’s is Deep Fried Duck Fat Doughnuts! These doughnuts are called “Little Duckers” and they come in a variety of unexpected flavours from sweet to savory. These doughnuts are made to share and are a perfect Canadian snack to have while strolling around Granville Island!
Starting at just $6 per plate, these Little Duckers are very filling little snacks that offer strong punches of flavour.
The Nutty Duckers ($6) are a sweet doughnut that feature Fraser Valley Honey and Agassiz Hazelnuts. 100 mile goodness!
Bring the Payne ($6) is an interesting combination of sweet, spicy, and salty flavours. Featuring spicy maple syrup and Vancouver’s hottest sea salt, it is a taste that you will remember!
Edible Canada knows that everything is better with bacon, which is why they created the When Sticky Pigs Fly ($6) doughnut. These guys feature double smoked bacon with salted caramel and warm chocolate sauce – a sweet savory sensation that can’t be beat!
Last but not least, the most unexpected doughnut on this menu is the Chubs MaGrubs ($10), a foie gras doughnut. This doughnut is centered with Quebec Rougie Foie Gras and then covered with sea salted caramel sauce. What a true Canadian indulgence!
