Get ready for summer in Vancouver as the city’s outdoor pools open this Victoria Day weekend. Outdoor pools operate through the Labour Day weekend or even later, provided warm weather.

Kitsilano, Second Beach and New Brighton heated seaside pools open Saturday, May 18. The outdoor pool at Hillcrest Aquatic Centre also opens that day and Maple Grove Pool will open Saturday, June 22.

Vancouver Outdoor Pools

1. Kits Beach Pool

Next to Kits Beach, which was voted one of the sexiest beaches in North America, if you’ve been down there you would be hard pressed to disagree that statement, it’s also Canada’s longest pool (three times longer than an Olympic pool). Perfect for serious and fun loving swimmers alike. Enjoy the amazing scenery (human and nature) in the best pool the city has to offer.

Address: 2305 Cornwall Avenue

2. Second Beach Pool

Situated along the park’s southwest Seawall, this pool has beautiful views and is great fun for kids. This is the pool of choice for most Downtown residents.

Address: Stanley Park Drive, Vancouver

3. Maple Grove Pool

The Maple Grove Pool is primarily a pool for kids rather than swimming adults. It’s a great place to plan a family fun day as there is a park adjacent to the pool.

Location: 6875 Yew Street

4. New Brighton Pool

The New Brighton Pool in East Vancouvver is long. Along with Kits Pool, this is a good choice for serious swimmers.

Location: North Windermere Street, near New Brighton Park, Vancouver

5. Hillcrest Aquatic Centre

Located next to Queen Elizabeth Park lies an outdoor pool with water sprays and bubble jets in addition to its amazing indoor facilities.

Location: 4575 Clancy Loranger Way
