Date Night in Vancouver: Lobster Month at Cardero's

March is Lobster month with the Sequoia restaurant group! During this time, all of the Sequoia group’s restaurants will be serving special menus that feature fresh Atlantic Lobster. For the ultimate West Coast experience, check out Cardero’s before the month ends. The lobster feature menu here is fantastic and a stellar view of the Coal Harbour Marina is also provided.

The Lobster Fettuccine (MP) is one of the feature lobster plates for dinner. It’s got a whole quarter of a lobster mixed in with saffron cream sauce, tomatoes, baby spinach, and grana padano cheese. This dish is refreshing and absolutely delicious!

The must-try item of the lobster menu is the Whole Baked Lobster (MP). It’s a full-sized Atlantic lobster baked in some decadent parmesan and grana padano bechamel – wow! The best part is that it’s served sliced open so that you can eat it conveniently without having to use any tools or getting your hands dirty.

White wine goes with lobster like red wine goes with steak. The Oyster Bay ($10/glass) from New Zealand is a particularly nice Sauvignon Blanc with a distinctive flavour intensity that goes well with seafood.

Pizzas at Cardero’s are a good shared plate to finish the meal with. The Feature Pizzas ($15) are different everyday and servers can give you excellent descriptions of what’s offered. Cardero’s pizzas have a soft crust and are baked upon ordering so that it’s fresh when it reaches your table.

Thank you for reading; see you at my next food adventure!
