It’s been a long cold winter, but it’s almost time to bust out the two-wheeled menace and take to the beautiful streets of Vancouver once again. For participants in this year’s Ride to Conquer Cancer, benefitting the BC Cancer Foundation, it means getting back on the training wagon to gear up for the almost 250km ride ahead. Before we get back on the bikes, we need to make our presence felt where it counts – and on this Epic Impact Day, we will do just that

Today, February 6, is Epic Impact Day. Today, the nearly 3000 participants riding are all encouraged to secure at least one donation to their cause in the most epic way possible. The Ride is in a unique situation – all of the funds collected in donations are transferred directly to the BC Cancer Foundation to fund the fight against every type of cancer. When you give, you can be sure your hard-earned cash is getting where it needs to be.

Unfortunately, it is extremely important that it does that – on average, 3340 Canadians will be diagnosed with cancer each week and 1470 will die from it. This needs to stop. This year’s Ride will hope to eclipse the incredible 11.2 million dollar mark set last year, which set records in the province. On Epic Impact Day last year, the participants of all of Canada’s Rides combined raised over $1 million.

Help save lives, today!

This year’s Ride in Vancouver hopes to continue the trend of astounding success, with over $39.1 million dollars raised over only four Rides total in BC! Throw in the fact that many participants have experienced cancer themselves, and you have such a truly impressive event, it could only be described as epic. If you’re short on inspiration, check out the RTCC YouTube channel that features some of the more epic riders.

On this Epic Impact Day, remember to support your friends, family, co-workers, and fellow cyclists in their quest to defeat the worst disease we know! Let’s work to support the BC Cancer Foundation and help develop the life-saving research and care enhancements that save lives every day. Let’s make an EPIC impact!

One in three British Columbians will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.

You know what would be most epic?

If that number was zero.
