Food Trucks coming to Chinatown Night Market
Just like the businesses that left Chinatown for the the new “Chinatown” in the region, Richmond, Vancouver’s Chinatown Night Market also saw vendors leave for greener pastures in favour of the two Richmond Night Markets. However, this year they want to reverse the annual trend of declining visitors buy adding some new elements to the mix. One of those elements is food trucks.
The Vancouver Chinatown Night Market will still feature the traditional food stalls and plenty of them, however, this year food trucks will be serving up the goods along Columbia Street.
Along with the usual entertainment of lion dancers, singers and martial artists, this year the entertainment will also include storytelling series, ping-pong, mahjong nights, kite-making classes and a monthly free movie night.
The hope is that this can reverse the trend of declining attendance and vendor participation. At the end of the day more variety in the stuff sold would be nice as well. How many booth selling cell phones cases do you need?
