Crisp produce, baked goods, jam, hot sauce, cutting boards, fresh cheeses, homemade chocolate, pâte, maple treats, organic hazelnuts, specialty ice cream, and even jewelry! These, and much more, are the goodies you will be able to find at Vancouver’s Winter Farmers Market, opening up this Saturday November 3rd at Nat Bailey Stadium. The market hours will be Saturdays from 10am-2pm and the market will be open until April of 2013.
Vancouver’s Winter Farmers Market combines the vendors from Vancouver’s Fall Farmers Markets for a one-stop farmers market fix throughout the wintertime. The Winter Farmers Market is not only a great place to do some grocery shopping, it also offers a neat social scene where folks can meet for a Saturday hangout. Combined with food trucks and non-edible items for sale, Vancouver’s Winter Farmers Market definitely has more in store than many would assume!
Please note that the organizers are trying to reduce plastic use at the market, so they request that people bring their own shopping bags or buy a reusable bag from the Information Tent (proceeds support the farmers markets). As well, recycling stations are available on grounds to collect paper, containers, and organics. Let’s make this wonderful event even better by helping to reduce its impact on the environment!
Here are some photos of a handful of the market vendors who will be at Vancouver’s Winter Farmers Market. For a full list of vendors check out the “vendors” section of the Eat Local website.
