TransLink releases Port Mann Bridge rapid bus schedule

Port Mann Bridge

The Port Mann Bridge will officially open on December 1 and there will rapid bus service over the bridge for the first time in a over a decade.

The Ministry of Transportation made the announcement on Friday and TransLink has posted its bus schedule for route #555 Braid Station/Carvolth Exchange online.

The route will take passengers from the Carvolth Exchange in Langley to the Millennium and Expo Line at Braid Station in New Westminster in 22 minutes. Once the balance of the Highway 1 improvements are completed in 2013, the bus will take passengers all the way to Lougheed Town Centre.

The buses will run every 10 minutes during the morning and afternoon rush hours, and every 30 minutes during the other times.

Along with the introduction of the Port Mann Bridge rapid bus service, TransLink will also roll out other service changes and optimizations on December 3.

Writer’s Note: The story previously incorrectly listed December 3 as the launch date for the rapid bus service.
