This summer’s Startup Weekend Vancouver is still fresh in a lot of peoples minds as it was a huge success amongst the 150 participants who put their entrepreneurial spirit to the test in the most jam-packed 54 hours of their lives. Just over two months later, a similar version returns to Vancouver by getting underway this Friday November 9th, with Startup Weekend UBC.

How Startup Weekend UBC works

It’s simple. You come with an idea you think might rally people to get excited about, or, you come with an open mind and rally behind the idea you like the most. No matter what way you look at it, you’ll find yourself onto a team of other budding entrepreneurs. Usually it’s a tremendous mix of people with different skills and backgrounds with the common belief of championing the  entrepreneurial spirit.

Once in a team, you have 54 hours to create a viable business idea supported  by adequate testing and critical thinking. It’s presented to a panel of accomplished entrepreneurs for judging where valuable feedback is given.
