These new lights and company signage are part of The Hudson’s Bay Company’s approximately $40 million renovation to its downtown Vancouver flagship store. This is impressive and highlights the buildings architecture beautifully. Other buildings in the city (Vancouver Art Gallery) should take note on how to do lighting right.

In a city that is dark and grey for at least half the year one would think the City of Vancouver would encourage more dramatic lighting effects for buildings, especially the crowns of buildings.

This building “FINALLY” gets the treatment it deserves.  The ornate entrances and glass awnings are amazing and a welcome replacement of the hideous metal awnigs they replace.

I agree with Dangronross. That type of building is rare in Vancouver, so we should really be showcasing it (as opposed to lighting cars on fire around it).
