Vancouver Fashion Night Out

On September 6, 2012 hoards of fashion lovers and avid shoppers will be flooding the streets of downtown Vancouver to get a chance to be a part of the first Fashion’s Night Out to take place in the city. With retailers still signing up on a daily basis and the social line up confirmed for the kick off fashion show, it will be a night to remember.
The Social fashion show for FNOV will be taking place at the CBC’s Studio 40 at 700 Hamilton Street. The doors for this show open at 5:30 with the show starting at 6pm and ending at 7pm, giving lots of time for attendees to still hit the streets shopping. The fashion show does have limited capacity though and is based on a first come basis, so it is best that those interested arrive early.
Here is the social lineup for the show:
  • Jason Matlo (who will be showing his newest Babe collection)
  • Jacqueline Conoir
  • Daryl White
  • Evan Ducharme – winner of the FNOV Design Competition that took place on August 15th.
Retailers participating in the fashion show include:

Once the fashion show is done, it is time to shop! The main shopping districts are Robson Street andAlberni Street although there are still some participating retailers outside of these zones.
The Robson Street participants include:

  • Boys Co.
  • French Connection
  • Gap
  • GUESS
  • GUESS by Marciano
  • Habit of Urban
  • JCrew
  • MAC
  • Miss Sixty/Energie
Alberni Street will consist of free standing flagships as well as a pop up shop area hosted by The Urban Tea Merchant located between Burrard and Thurlow on Alberni Street.
The freestanding participants include:

Pop up participants include:
  • Ishara featuring Blo Me Dry
  • Wear Else
  • Lisa Cadrain – Stella & Dot
  • GYR Style
  • Peg Steley Jewellery
  • The Urban Tea Merchant (Host)
Jennyeur Loves will have a mobile fashion truck that will be located on Alberni Street right by the pop up shops.

  • Plum (North Vancouver, West 4th, South Granville)

Because shopping can drain energy it is important to refuel at the any of the participating restaurants:
  • CinCin: Special Set Menu in celebration of FNO
  • Thierry: “Fashion-Forward Macaron”, Exclusive to FNO
  • Blue Water Cafe: Seafood Platter and Bubbly for Two, $45
  • West: FNO Cocktails designed by Award-Winning Bartender David Wolowidnyk
  • MARKET by Shangri La: 3 course dinner by Executive Chef, Wayne Harris for $48
The social after party will take place at Bar None in Yaletown. This is not a free event. Cover will be charged at the door unless a ticket is obtained. But do not fear, the Fashion’s Night Out Vancouver street team with the help of SocialShopper, will be giving shoppers a chance to WIN their way into the FNOV after party by taking on a red carpet challenge- if you are fashionably dressed, the street team may ask you to take on the red carpet challenge, strut your stuff, and you could win VIP passes to the Bar None after party.
