Local band ‘Dear Rouge’ recently wrote and recorded a song for an encouragement to the Jacobsen family as they are raising their autistic son (Noah Jacobsen). The song took on a whole new meaning when the father (Kevin Jacobsen) tragically died in a work related accident. The song is now posted on www.dearrouge.bandcamp.com where 100% of the proceeds go to supporting Noah Jacobson’s autism therapy.
Danielle (Dear Rouge lead singer) met Tonia and Kevin Jacobsen at her work (Cactus Club) where they developed a friendship. Through numerous conversations Danielle found out that the young couple had an autistic son. Tonia and Keven shared about the stuggles and expenses that are related Noah’s autism therapy. Danielle was so moved, that she wanted to write and record a song for Noah as an encouragement to the family.
In early June of 2012 Kevin tragically died in a logging accident. The song’s chorus “Let love lead us” became powerful lyrics in carrying the family through this difficult time. The song was used in the funeral service, and took on a deeper meaning than initially intended.
