South Hill, a neighbourhood on the rise, will now be getting its first food truck. JJ’s Trucketeria is the first of its kind in South Hill, a sight rarely seen outside the downtown core. It aims to serve reasonably priced healthy food, with most items being under $5.

The menu, like the ethnically diverse community of South Hill, will feature a cultural mix of flavours. And it’s extremely affordable as grilled meat skewers will sell for $2 , and decent sized sandwiches for $3. This has the making of being very popular with the John Oliver Secondary students.

The menu also includes an all day breakfasts, healthy vegetarian options, perogies, tacos and garlic fried rice plates.

JJ’s Trucketeria will be located near 44th and Fraser street, next to the new hot tub seating.

The truck is at 44th and Fraser just as you say. On the back of the truck they are running a generator.  They are parked 30 meters away from the sign that says this is an idle free city.  If you walk along the eastern sidewalk of Fraser at 44th you can inhale all these wonderful fumes.  You may or may not get a stronger dose if you go to classes at the South Hill Education Centre, in front of which the truck has parked.

I went to the library so I only passed by twice, 10 minutes apart, and the generator was running both times.  Does it run all day long?  .
