Vancouverites love their food carts and now we’ll have 6 food cart festivals to attend and indulge in. The Waldorf, Yelp and Street Food Vancouver present six Sundays of food, live music, shopping, and fun.

Starting Sunday July 29, and happening every Sunday till September 2, check out a series of free and family-friendly events. The first food cart festival was part of the Canada Day celebrations which drew well over 5,000 people. Realizing the veracious appetite Vancouverites have for food carts the Waldorf will be hosting food cart festivals on six consecutive Sundays in their parking lot.

Participating food carts so far include La Brasserie, Soho Road, Off the Wagon, Re-Up, Juice Truck, Mom’s Grilled Cheese, Cartel Taco, Street Meet, Pig on the Street, Guanaco and Holy Perogy. More will be announced soon.

From week to week, the Food Cart Fest will be complimented by a series of community markets. Over 50 vendors will be on hand to sell vintage and original clothing, accessories, art, jewelry, and home decor. Upcoming summer market will include a vintage market curated by The Chosen Ones, a farmers and artisan market, an outdoor book and comic sale, and more.

These weekly events will also feature a 19+ beer garden in their outdoor tiki beach area, live musical performances, DJs, and other family entertainment.

Great idea, but poor execution last time around.  Long line ups, terrible parking fights in the back but, my lunch on the Drive was delicious.  After seeing that there was no way I was going to get my food for at least 45 mins, I was gone.   Oh, and I won’t be back next time either.
