Main street is one of those urban areas which typifies hipster and vintage culture. Fortunately for us foodies, restauranteurs on the Main Street strip have dedicated their time to discover unique twists on otherwise typical cuisine offerings. The hipster in all of us should be very pleased. I mean, what could be more fun than participating in your own meal?In another of my weekly dinner searches with my good friend Victoria, we decided to visit Habit on Main. Why? Well, to be honest…for their Thursday night perogies. We were all over the perogies. Like a fat kid on smarties.

One of the unique aspects of Habit’s menu is their “bento box” style cocktails. Traditional cocktails, deconstructed. All the ingredients come to you in the “box” with instructions on how to create your own cocktail.

My bento choice for the evening? Not-So-Blue Hawaiian. Mixture of coconut-infused rum, orange liqueur and fresh citrus juices. Aloha!

Then came the food. The Thursday Perogy Plate special was simple potato perogies with caramelized onions and chive sour cream. But what really caught my eyes were the carrot and brie perogies.

Carrot. And brie. In a perogy.

A mouthwatering combination.

"Food spread"

Counterclockwise: Albacore tuna, carrot and brie perogies, Habit burger

In addition, I got the albacore tuna on the side, served cold and salt-and-pepper seasoned, while Victoria got the Habit burger (made with a mixture of beef and pork) with caramelized onions and bacon!

I loved it so much, I went back the next day with another friend and her hubby for the same perogies.

The hipster in me was convinced, the foodie in me was in love.

Bon appetit!

Love the Habit burger, I’m going to put just a little bit of Hipster
    Dust
on it. Gives the food a little bit of a kick.
