Looking to see one of the biggest indie bands in the world in an incredibly unique venue? Just wait until September!

Since the release of their 2009 epic Up From Below, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros have been one of the hottest indie bands in the world. Their hit Home has become one of the most played songs on the radio in the past three years, and one of the most recognizable melodies in recent pop music. This September, they will be bringing their talents to the most scenic stage in the city – the Malkin Bowl at Ferguson Point in Stanley Park.

Their latest release Here, featuring lead tracks That’s What’s Up, One Love to Another, and Man on Fire was released this past May and has since peaked at #5 on Billboard’s top 200 album chart. The album, deemed by Pitchfork Media as one that “gets by on casual, low-key charm rather than showboating gestures,” is not one to miss – it constitutes a step in the right direction for a band that needed some after three years of basking in the success of their wildly successful debut.

The Malkin Bowl would seem like a nearly perfect venue to host the (currently) ten-piece wandering-minstrel-turned-messiah act that tends to send multiple members into the crowd at any given time
during their lively performance. Vancouverites love their indie music more than most, and September is looking like an amazing month for lovers of the independently-produced genre.

Other than the Zeros, our beautiful city is due to host Bostonian superstars Dispatch at the Commodore on September 20th and James Mercer’s baby The Shins at the Orpheum on the 25th. Devoted concert goers should seek their tickets now, as shows of this calibre will surely sell out sooner rather than later.

Besides, why miss out on such an awesome lineup while the weather is still beautiful come the fall?
