Eat Vancouver-Top 5 Food Samples

Eat Vancouver has now been celebrated for its 10th consecutive year at BC Place Stadium. For those of you who are not familiar with the event—it’s basically Christmas, for foodies.  Hundreds of chefs, well known restaurants, food companies, and many more from the culinary world all come together for the love of food.

It’s marked on my calendar every year!  If you ask me, there should seriously be an advent calendar for Eat Vancouver. I mean there is no better way to countdown to something than over chocolate! Right!?

This year there were five food samples that really stood out of the crowd. I would like to show them off to you.

1. Liege Waffles from Patisserie Lebeau

I’ll never forget my first Liege Waffle experience from Mussette Cafe on Burrard St. Yes, it was that good. In fact it was so good that I went back the week after to get another fix. It was there that I found out that Patisserie Lebeau Cafe makes these heavenly waffles in house.  These light, airy and perfectly sweet waffles are an absolute house-hold must have. If you can’t make it over the Patisserie Labeau to grab fresh ones, the frozen store bought ones are just as good. A few places they retail at: Stongs, Choices & Whole Foods market.

 2.Lamb Slider from Ebo Restaurant

These were excellent. Worth all 7 tickets if you ask me! The lamb was fresh and unbelievably flavorful with hints of ginger and garlic. The burger was dressed with harissa (Tunisian hot chili sauce), onion jam and cucumber pickle. Genius.

3. Kobe Meatball from Glowbal Group

These round morsels of heaven would put an Italian mother to shame. They are one of the only reasons I ever eat at Trattoria Italian restaurant. I highly, highly recommend them.

4. Chicken Korma from Spice Manera

If i’m going to have a frozen dinner, this will be the one. This chicken Korma was loaded with Indian spices and powerful flavors. This is a great dish for those of you on the-go and in need of a quick meal.

5. Rob Feenies Lobster Mac & Cheese.

I was lucky to be one of the few that got to sample Rob Feenies Lobster Mac & Cheese during his cooking demo. It was fresh out of the oven and my god words cannot describe how rich and creamy this dish was. It consisted of butter, cream and some more butter and cream.  However, to be able to fully enjoy this dish you must forgive and then forget your caloric intake for the day.
