City of Vancouver Welcomes You Home at June 19th Event

Exploring Home

City of Vancouver partners with Spacing Vancouver and Museum of Vancouver to find inspiration from three communities: Grandview-Woodland, Marpole and West End.

Starting at 6pm this Tuesday, June 19th, the City of Vancouver is partnering up with Spacing Vancouver and the Museum of Vancouver to host Home: Inspiration from Three Vancouver Communities as part of the community planning processes in Grandview-Woodland, the West End and Marpole. As a follow-up to the Jane’s Walks held in early May in all three neighbourhoods, the event acts as a way of sharing stories and insights that came from these walks with other participants. Those who did not participate in the Jane’s Walks are encouraged to come to the event as well, as it will be a great opportunity to meet your neighbours and learn more about the community planning processes.

The night will start with a “Jane’s Game”, which will be a fun and funny way of interacting with other event attendees. There will be prizes for this game, as well as the opportunity to engage in the community planning process. Following will be recaps of each neighbourhood and the Jane’s Walks, followed by discussion of the future of these neighbourhoods. Once the event wraps up, around 8:15pm, there will be a reception and cash bar to keep the night going. There will be numerous city planners on hand to answer residents’ questions and help provide insight into the planning process for each neighbourhood and how it will all go down.

It should be a fun and engaging evening, so if you’re free on Tuesday definitely think about going. Tickets are by donation and registration is being done through Eventbrite.
