Let’s be honest, we all watch talent shows on TV. Some of us tune in to see ‘yet to be discovered” talent. Some of us, myself included, watch to see people crash and burn in their audition. The latest program to join this genre is called “Over The Rainbow” from the people at CBC.

CBC is starting their nationwide search for the next woman to play Dorothy in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s famed musical The Wizard of Oz. The musical will open this December in Toronto at The Ed Mirvish Theatre.

When:

  • Friday June 1st – sign-up is 9:00am to 12:00 pm.  Auditions will continue until everyone is seen.
  • Saturday, June 2nd – sign-up is 9:00 am to 11:00 am for EQUITY and ACTRA union members only. Please note that you must bring your union card with you.

Where:

  • The Westin Grand Vancouver – 433 Robson Street, Vancouver, B.C.

What:

  • Participants are asked to prepare “Over the Rainbow” and another song of their choice

If you are reading this, and you don’t live in beautiful Vancouver, auditions are also being held in Calgary, Winnipeg, Montreal, Toronto and Halifax.
