Former NFL linebacker Junior Seau was found shot to death at his home Wednesday morning.  Police are reporting it to be a suicidal murder.  Seau was 43 years old.  Police reportedly found Junior unconscious with a gunshot wound to the chest.  CPR efforts were unsuccessful to bring him back to life. According to people around Junior, he gave no indication of a problem when spoken to earlier in the week.

Seau played football for USC Trojans before going to the home town team San Diego Charger, which he led to a super bowl back in 1994.  He then went on to play for the Miami Dolphins and eventually ending his career with the New England Patriots.  Junior was a leader emotionally and mentally on and off the field for each team he played for.

Seau spent parts of 20 seasons in the NFL, including the ‘90-02 stretch with the Chargers.  Seau lead the team to their only Super Bowl appearance in team history.  He was voted 12 straight Pro Bowls and was an All-Pro six times.   He compiled 545 tackles, 57 sacks, and 18 interceptions in his career.

Seau was the 5th pick overall in the NFL draft out of USC and stayed with the Chargers until being traded to the Dolphins.  He came out of retirement a couple of times to play for the Pats.

Junior was a great person on and off the field.  It’s sad to see such a warrior with a big heart to leave this horrible world.  RIP Junior Seau, you will never EVER be forgotten by anyone in the football world.
