Penguins at Vancouver Aquarium. Now It’s Official
We broke the story about Penguins coming to the aquarium many weeks ago and now it is official, penguins are coming to the Vancouver Aquarium. Here is the official press release from the Vancouver Aquarium:
There’s A New Bird In Town
New penguin exhibit opens May 18
Waddle your way to the Vancouver Aquarium this summer and meet the new African penguins.
These charming little characters will soon be calling the Vancouver Aquarium home. Come see them at Penguin Point, our brand new penguin exhibit located between our Wild Coast and Canada’s Arcticexhibits.
Penguins are birds, but they have lost the ability to fly. Discover how they have adapted to life at sea, and notice the difference between penguin wings that act like flippers and wings used for flight. Look for distinctive African penguin behaviours. Is it preening, catching a breeze, resting or giving you THE stare?
Enjoy penguin-themed crafts and family activities. Our interpretive staff and Penguin Point volunteers will be available at the exhibit throughout the day to answer all of your penguin questions!
