Happy hump day everyone! If someone told me last night during the rainstorm I’d be waking up to sunshine I would’ve said, “well yes, that makes perfect sense. This is Vancouver.” I braved the rain last night to attend The Show, 90 minutes of collections strutting the meow-walk (aka catwalk) courtesy of Kwantlen’s recent fashion graduates. The energy was amazing, as soon as you entered you could feel the excitement and enthusiasm, totally my kind of joint. I must say, I was super impressed with everything shown. From kids clothes, yoga wear (shocking), to beautiful dresses, there was something for everyone. It was hard to narrow it down, but someone had to do it. Without further ado, my picks for last night’s “The Show.”

1: Slow and Philosophy by Bethany Young. I liked his chinos and the pop of red on this sweater, plus he was easy on the eyes (hey!) 2. Lost and Found by Erika Rekis. This jacket was my favorite mens piece of the night. I’m a fan of ‘grown man proper’ wear, clothes that are young but are timeless, so this varsity-esque/2 toned # totally did it for me. You want your boyfriend in this, trust me. 3. Inia by Crystal Granacher. One of the best part of the shows were the age ranges of the models. This lady owned that printed dress and worked it like a pro. Fab, with a capital F. 4.Veo by Nam Hee Kim. Perfect ensemble for Sunday brunch on the patio no? Hat is a must.

There was definitely no shortage of menswear last night. 1. TAD Menswear by Morgan-Lee Lewis. I’m a sucker for cardigans and color so this was like Christmas wrapped up with my name on it. 2. Stealth by Grace Choi. Motorcycle clothes, why didn’t I think of that? These guys had some ill jacket designs. Definitely a bad biker boy fantasy come true. 3. Sector by Christina Ferrrante. This was another homerun as well. Men’s jackets with oversized hooks and buttons, love love love. I could seeing a guy wear this for years.

But by far my favorite piece of the whole night was this beautiful tie dye maxi dress (tweeted here) by designer Yna Ansay of Senona. I haven’t worn tie dye since the 3rd grade but this dress literally took my breath away and made me realize I’ve been missing out. Can we agree this dress is a stunner? Gorgeous. Great job to Yna and the rest of the graduates!

Such talent there was last night, can’t wait to see them make their mark in the fashion world. Big thanks to Kwantlen for having me and hooking it up with the swag bag.

And as if you don’t already know, you can find me here, and here. Have a great day buzzers!
