Roberto Luongo: Live Forever

Vancouver Canada News Roberto Luongo: Live Forever

Our writers have joked around the media circus that surrounds Roberto Luongo these days. We broke a few stories, the jersey shopping one in particular was earth shattering. However, at the end of the day, we at Vancity Buzz don’t want to see Lu go. When and if he does it will be a sad day to see the best goalie in franchise history leave.

I’d much rather see Shneider and Luongo both stay here and we rearrange our defense some what. Much of what people blame Lou for is actually the fault of the defense.

Love this, and we still Luv Lou!….. one of the Best!

From game 1 (The Detroit insanity) to his last game (Vancouver vs LA at home game 2 2012 playoffs) I’ve been a huge fan. There may never be a Canuck who delivers as much as he managed to deliver. Forget the faults, He gave us hope when he crushed Turco. He won a gold medal in our rink during OUR Olympics. He kept a city on the edge of its seat during the 2011 playoffs. If game 2 vs LA was his lat in Vancouver as a Canuck I wish him all the best. He’ll always be a Canucks in my eyes.

VancityBuzz haven’t joked about shit. You guys just made a few blunders and now try to insult your audience’s intelligence with comments about making jokes? PUUULLLLEAAAASE.

Please find someone with more than a highschool education to write here.

Time to leave your parents basement troll

  • DATRUTE

Oh zing you got me with the internet’s most unoriginal insult. You must be a VBuzz writer with that type of skill.

Luongo Lifted the Canucks to where they are Today !! But for some reason the Canuck fans want to blame him for TEAM LOSSES The Vancouver FANS don’t seem to realize the CANUCK TEAM plays ALOT more POOR games than Lou !!! I wish they would keep them BOTH the DYNAMIC DUO !! but that will not happen !!!

    To VcB writers and staff:

I don’t normally write comments on
online articles but feel I should in this case. I’ve been following the Luongo articles
over the past couple days and have been extremely disappointed.

First off, you can’t write something
like “Luongo has made a public declaration he
wants to be traded” or that Luongo is “saying he is sick and tired of
Vancouver” when it’s simply not true (article Luongo Wants Out). But I think this point has been made and judging
    by Dean’s articles/responses he seems like a rational guy and I don’t expect a
mishap like that to happen again.

Kevin Cawthra’s actions on the other
hand have been borderline disgraceful. With confrontational, sarcastic, and
immature responses to VcB commenters (who are often no better themselves) it
brings disrepute to the whole blog.

Eg. Comments below Luongo Wants Out; “I am sure we can use someone SO MUCH better” and “you sound SO professional.”

    His twitter feed
(which is easily accessible on the VcB website) is also full of gems like “F is
for Faggot” and “HA-HA LOSER. U SUCK. GROW UP.”

I honestly don’t know how a blog that
expects to be taken seriously can tolerate this kind of behaviour and still
purport to be a reliable source of information. Can you imagine Darren Dreger or Bob McKenzie acting like this?

As for this article, I have to agree
with Datrute that it’s an insult to the reader’s intelligence (at least initially). It seems like
you’re trying to cover up a clumsy handling of the Luongo situation by saying
you’ve “joked around the media circus”. Better to just admit the mistakes that
have been made than to make more excuses.

    Needless to say, I’m extremely
disappointed in VcB and felt something had to be said as I expect a higher
standard of writing and professionalism from a site that I’ve (mistakenly?)
    recommended to friends.

    Dear Guest,

Appreciate your concern. The Luongo articles definitely have spurred lots of discussion, some good and some bad. Dean and Kevin have learned a few things from the past days and will make the adjustments for future articles. With the Canucks disappointment, it doesn’t help in calming people down online.

We have all met about these articles and talked to our writers about how to best move forward from this. We are working hard on improving the websites content and quality, you’ll be seeing all of this as the summer moves on and we start to finalize the core.

We appreciate you being a fan and recommending us to your friends, we’ve duly noted the comments from the past days and have again made the adjustments. Feel free to send us further feedback or continue this discussion at [email protected]
