Get ready Vancouver for the debut of Road Hockey to Conquer Cancer. The inaugural event was held last year in Toronto was a huge success that raised over $2.4 million. I think we in Vancouver can beat this record.

This dawn-to-dusk fundraising event will take place October 13, 2012 in the heart of downtown Vancouver, hosted by Concord Pacific Place. The event will feature an unprecedented number of spirited road hockey games, as well as musical acts, celebrity appearances, interactive exhibits, food and beverages and so much more. If you enjoy a challenge, being part of a team and donating your time and effort to an amazing cause, this is the event for you.

Participants play five exciting games alongside hundreds of teams striving for victory, thousands of driven participants, with every player united in one common goal—create a world where no Canadian fears cancer.

The actual event may be a few months away still, however, this Friday, February 17 at Rogers Arena by the Roger Neilson memorial statue there will be a pick up game. Stop by, grab some refreshments, listen to moving testimonials and cheer the players as they team up to conquer cancer.
