The UBC Arts Last Lecture is back! On Friday, March 16th at 7:30pm in the Old Auditorium come and enjoy a Last Lecture by one of Canada’s most popular media personalities.

This year the Arts Undergraduate Society of UBC Vancouver is excited to have George Stroumboulopoulos speak at the Arts Last Lecture 2012.

The Arts Last Lecture is an annual event in which a speaker is invited to deliver a “Last Lecture” to the graduating class in the Faculty of Arts. This event allows graduating students the opportunity to attend a last lecture with their peers, as well as celebrate the end of their undergraduate studies. This event hopes to inspire and empower students with the hope that their education at UBC has prepared them to be agents of positive change in Vancouver, Canada and the world.

This event is also open to the general public, and we welcome you to UBC!

Tickets start at $10. Get your UBC Arts Last Lecture Tickets Here

His show is the second-worst thing on the CBC.

    You gotta be kidding.
$10 to hear George tell students to have no goals.
Of course George gets his several thousands speaking fee whether anyone shows up or not.
If UBC students were truly ready for the real world they’d be demanding and expecting a lot better minds to speak to them.
Strombo is hardly an agent of change for a better world. More like a proponent of not making waves and following CBC rules carefully.

This reinforces the message tht getting attention is more important than actually contributing enlightenment and truth.

It only costs $10 if you aren’t a graduating Arts student.  Those who want to pay, can and will.  Obviously George isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but having seen him on numerous occasions find him to be incredibly interesting to talk to and learn some of his foibles and quirks.
When I graduated, the last Arts lecturer didn’t appeal to me personally, but I still found their life experiences worthwhile to listen to.
So go see, listen and hear George, or don’t.
