The Great Volkswagen Art Heist

The other day, my friends at Volkswagen Canada, let me know about a cool art project they’ve set up here in Vancity to celebrate the launch of their all new 2012 Jetta GLI. In a nutshell, VW Canada has hidden limited edition, framed, light paintings all over town and they want you, dear readers to steal them.

Starting today the 20th, until Sunday the 23rd, it’s as easy as firing up the ol’ Twitter and following @VWcanada for clues to the locations of each of the individually hand numbered prints. That’s it! No retweeting or nothin’! Once you’ve found your treasure, you can snap a photo of yourself with the work and add it to Volkswagen Canada’s facebook page. No kidding people, it’s a bona fide treasure hunt in our own back yard. You get out, play with your smrt phone and end up scoring some cool art. For free! If that’s not a great way to spend the wee hours after a night on the town, or a hung over morning after, I couldn’t tell you what is.
