Fall is here and Halloween is near and who doesn’t love carving a pumpkin. A visit to your local pumpkin patch is  the quintessential activity that brings together family, the outdoors and seasonal fun. For those of you living in Vancouver, it’s going to be a bit of a drive but you will find the experience more fun and memorable than going to your nearest grocer and making a quick purchase.

Many patches will have different attractions for guests as well including corn mazes, farm animals, vegetable gardens and tractor rides. Don’t forget to bring your camera because the landscape and vibrant colours is perfect for photos! Below is a list of pumpkin patches in different cities. Some charge a nominal admission fee ($1-$3).

RICHMOND

    hey there… don’t forget about Southlands Heritage Farm in the Southlands neighbourhood of Vancouver.  It’s super easy to get to by car or bus it’s small but there are LOTS of pumpkins. It’s basically free – only 5 bucks for your pumpkin and entry is by donation.  There are horses, goats and chickens to look at and they do parties as well.  I took my son there yesterday and last year.  No hay rides or anything like that.. but it’s nice to have one in the city that is close to everything but seems so out of the way. =)
